An attorney referred me to an associate in his firm to help prepare estate tax returns, and she was terrific. Alas, she left his firm. We thought we'd be safe using him for subsequent tax returns. Wrong! He was slow, absent minded, and way over charged us! Some of the time he put into doing the tax returns was due to his forgetting information and instructions that I gave him (in writing). I'd have to constantly remind him about details, which required him to redo his work. To this day I'm not sure he got it right. I refuse to pay him for the time he spent correcting his mistakes!
