Question related to use tax
Hello, I moved from Mexico to the United States around 8 years ago having a visa that let me study but not work as I was a dependant, and during that time I brought personal property from Mexico to the United States. I became a permanent resident around 4 years after. As I learn more about taxes, I wonder if I was required to pay use tax on that personal property that I brought from Mexico to North Carolina as I paid sales tax on that property on Mexico when I bought it there, and now having moved from North Carolina to Texas, if I need to pay use tax on my personal property as I paid taxes for some of them on North Carolina, plus the stuff that I bought on Mexico some long time ago.
