About Hildegard H. Schunke
My professional accounting career began in Indiana as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in accounting to fund my second Master of Arts Degree, Accounting. After graduation, my contract was continued as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Ball State University. I transitioned to Staff Accountant for a steel conglomerate to work with accounting computer product implementations. After completing four ledger package installations, I was fundamentally responsible for creating a full cycle costing package for a national product which was later sold industry wide. After the foundry successfully weathered the mid-80's steel dumping crisis, I worked in local public accounting firms in California. From 1990 through 2004 I worked at Napa Pipe Corp, div OS (NYSE) as Plant Accountant (11 years), doing troubleshooting and internal audit for the Corporation as a whole. Rather than commute to Portland, OR, I chose to stay through cyclical downsizing as Systems Engineer/Specialist until the site was closed. My California-based practice established in 1991 consists of Simply Accounting, QuickBooks manufacturing, service and governmental clients, as well as individual and business tax returns. Continuing Education requirements are met through 2007.
