About Roger B. Kennard
Child, Van Wagoner & Bradshaw, with over forty-five years of service to clients in Utah, California, Florida, Nevada, Minnesota, and other states and Canada (including off-shore subsidiaries), is a full-service accounting firm providing a diverse group of clients with services in auditing, financial reporting, tax planning and reporting, accounting systems design and installation, and other management advisory services. As Certified Small Business Affiliates with Wayne State University, we also offer ongoing classes in Starting and Running a Profitable Small Business. In addition to individual memberships held by its principals in professional societies, the firm is a member of the Center For Public Company Audit Firms and the Private Companies Practice Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). We have successfully completed four triennial SECPS Peer Reviews. This highest level of peer review is required in order to perform auditing services to clients who register with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In addition, we follow a program of Continuing Professional Education to maintain professional competence. The firm is also registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). AUDITING AND ACCOUNTING: Our attest services constitute a significant portion of our operations. As Certified Public Accountants, we are responsible for the examination of financial statements in accordance with (a) standards established by the AICPA and the PCAOB, for the purpose of expressing an independent opinion as to their fairness in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in each specific jurisdiction; (b) SEC and HUD regulations; and/or (c) Government Auditing Standards, for the purpose of reporting on compliance with specific program requirements. We also provide compilation and independent review services for those clients whose financial statements do not require an auditor's opinion. SYSTEMS DESIGN AND INSTALLATION: We have been instrumental in the development and installation of many accounting systems designed to meet the specific requirements of our clients, including manufacturing, tax reporting, construction job costing and bonding, financing arrangements, and medical billing. CONSULTING SERVICES: Our personnel consult with client management teams in areas of business structure, accounting systems, application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to individual circumstances, internal control analysis, projections and budgets, tax planning, retirement planning, and accounting personnel selection as needed. EDGAR FILING SERVICES: We have an in-house specialist who files registration statements, periodic reports, and other correspondence electronically as required by the SEC and HUD - as an adjunct to our attest services or as a stand-alone engagement. TAX SERVICES: We maintain a comprehensive library and provide a full range of tax planning and consulting services to our clients. We are experienced in individual, partnership, limited liability company, and corporate tax issues - including reorganizations, acquisitions, and mergers - and represent our clients before the Internal Revenue Service and other taxing agencies. CLIENTS: Our clientele is diversified and includes the construction industry, real estate development and management, financial services, mining, oil and gas, manufacturing, wholesale and retail trades, health care, travel and hospitality, agriculture, employee benefit plans, professional service providers, not-for-profit entities, and organizations subject to government audit requirements.
