BIOGRAPHY I graduated from the University of Colorado in 1990 with a degree in Accounting. After spending several years in industry, I obtained an MBA in Finance from the University of Colorado in 1994. I have been in public accounting since 1995, working with prestigious local CPA firms in Denver and Boulder. During my tenure with these firms, I developed a broad range of tax and accounting knowledge. In early 2002, I started my own practice, focusing on income taxes and business valuation services. My primary goal is to provide excellent client service. PHILOSOPHY I work from my home office, which results in a quality product at a lower cost than other year-round CPA firms with high overhead. I handle personal, sole-proprietor, corporate, estate, fiduciary, partnership and LLC accounts. All work is billed at $120 per hour. Most returns will cost the same as a large seasonal mass-market tax service, but you'll receive personal service from your own accountant. Resume and references are available upon request. THE PROCESS I like to send out a Tax Organizer to my new individual clients. The packet is approximately 40 pages and gathers a variety of information about your specific tax situation. Many pages may not apply to you, but I like to leave no stone unturned. Current year documents (like W-2's, 1099's, etc.) can be inserted into the appropriate section of the Tax Organizer. You can either mail the organizer and a copy of your prior year return to me or schedule an appointment to bring them in. I will go through the documents in a timely manner and alert you of any tax saving opportunities that I may discover. Upon completion of the returns, I will send you the appropriate items to be filed as well as a bound copy for your records. You also have the option to have your return filed electronically, generally shortening the amount of time for receiving a refund. In subsequent years, your Tax Organizer will be customized with information and numbers from your prior returns. This personalized service will save you time and effort and will help to ensure the accuracy of your returns.
