Joe is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM). Prior to launching Peterson Advisors LLC, Joe was the President and Managing Partner of T. Curtis & Company, P.C., a minority, woman owned-small business certified public accounting and management consulting firm located at the National Harbor, Maryland. Joe's career history includes over 20 years with UHY Advisors, Inc. (UHY), formerly known as Urbach Kahn & Werlin (UKW). Joe was a Managing Director with UHY and the Managing Partner of UHY's Washington DC office for more than seven years, Joe was the national director of the Firm's Public Sector Practice, and served on the Firm's Executive and Management Committees. He began his career at UKW immediately upon graduation from college in 1987 as an Entry Level Accountant. Joe worked his way up through the Firm to become a Managing Director / Partner in 1995.
